Business description: FlowMedica was founded to address a critical and underserved clinical need: renal protection and recovery. Intended for use in patients with established renal injury or who are at risk for such injury in a variety of medical settings, FlowMedica’s proprietary infusion systems will target renal therapeutics directly to the kidneys, thereby minimizing the potentially harmful systemic effects of renoprotective agents. The Company’s initial efforts are dedicated to the development of an innovative system to prevent radiocontrast nephropathy. The system is designed to provide renal protection from radiographic contrast media administered during coronary interventional (stent, angioplasty, atherectomy) and diagnostic procedures. The FlowMedica Renal Infusion System is not currently available commercially, but the Company is in the process of conducting Phase I human clinical trials. FlowMedica welcomes contact from potential clinical investigators and investors.
