KAR Auction Services

KAR Auction Services, Inc., formerly KAR Holdings, Inc., is a holding company. The Company is a provider of vehicle auction services in North America. It facilitates auction services for sellers of used, or whole car, vehicles and salvage vehicles, through its 214 physical auction locations and Internet venues. During the year ended December 31, 2009, it facilitated the sale of over 3.3 million used and salvage vehicles. The Company's revenues are generated, through auction fees from both vehicle buyers and sellers, as well as by providing ancillary services, including inspections, storage, transportation, reconditioning, salvage recovery, titling, and floorplan financing. The Company operates in three business segments: ADESA Auctions (ADESA), Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. (IAAI) and Automotive Finance Corporation.
