Xoomsys has developed a breakthrough solution to the long-standing technical problem of harnessing the power of distributed processing for large-scale simulation of a particularly challenging class of systems - tightly-coupled systems. Integrated circuits are an important member of this class of systems. Xoomsys is developing products, based on its breakthrough distributed processing technology, to enable accurate, large-scale transistor-level simulation of integrated circuit designs. The Xoomsys solution uses industry-standard simulators and low-cost Linux computing clusters to deliver orders-of-magnitude gains in simulation throughput without any loss of accuracy. A major technical breakthrough by the company, brought about by integration of disciplines outside of traditional circuit simulations, forms the core of the company’s technology. This technical breakthrough enables partitioning of very large tightly-coupled circuits and distribution of the resulting partitions for simulation as effectively decoupled problems on multiple independent processors. As a result, a dramatic speedup in simulation time is achieved. The typical speedup grows linearly with the number of processors applied.
